Safety mats

Two rigid conductive surfaces, hermetically encapsulated in polyurethane with high mechanical and chemical resistance, are held at a mutual distance by special spacers. The system operates by detecting a command signal following pressure on the mat, resulting in contact between the two conductive surfaces. A wide range of shapes and sizes can be produced according to the Customer's specifications, up to a maximum active area of 1600×1000 mm or 1250×1200 mm per mat. Multiple modular safety electric mats can be linked in series to protect extended areas. The thickness of the ESM mats is only 10 mm. The following types are available, according to the connection

• Type 1: For connection to dedicated equipment that monitors the resistance value R (2-conductor technology). The typical open-circuit resistance is 8.2 kΩ.
• Type 2: For series connection with other mats or with safety modules that monitor short-circuit between input channels (4-conductor technology)
• Type 3: For direct switching (maximum 1 A – 60 V dc).

The base models feature a pre-formed “bubble-rubber” tread plate. The modular safety electric mats ESM, together with the ES control equipment, hold certifications in accordance with European regulations, achieve safety category PLe Cat. 3 according to EN ISO 13849, and comply with EN 1760-1 and EN ISO 13856-1.
