Various types of electronic equipment and ES series control modules (see table) are available according to the intended use and required protection level. The high-precision, reliable electronic control equipment, connected to ESLE sensitive edges, ESM sensitive mats or Bumpers, triggers an alarm state when the actuator elements are compressed. ES electronic control equipment is available for the following technologies:
- 2-wire technology with sampling resistance: The ES equipment, connected to the actuator, measures the resistance value of the internal ENT sensitive strip. The electrical resistance of the sensitive strip is, in a resting and physically intact state, 8k2 ohm and in that condition the ES equipment is ready for operation. When the actuator is compressed, the resistance value falls below 6 kohm and the ES equipment is activated. In the event of a fault, the resistance value either drops steadily to zero (short circuit) or rises to infinity (open circuit) and the ES equipment instantly enters a safe state.-
- 4-wire technology: The ES equipment, connected to the actuator, continuously monitors the state of the internal ENT strip. Under optimal operating conditions, after the automatic control test, the ES equipment’s output contacts are normally closed. When the actuator is compressed or a fault occurs, the output contacts open. At every instant a check is performed between the two redundant measurement circuits to ensure correct operation.
