The electronic safety switches with magnetic encoding serve as an alternative to traditional electromagnetic and electromechanical limit switches, solving installation challenges in harsh environments. The tamper-proof encoding system allows operation only of pairs with the same code. Ideal for industrial applications, compact and easy to install, they achieve an IP67 protection rating, are resistant to shock and vibration. They have a travel range of 4 to 12 mm and do not require perfect coaxial alignment of the two elements (emitter and receiver). When used singly they comply with safety category 4, PLe, SIL2 according to the model, or when connected to a safety relay they comply with SIL3 category, according to EN ISO 13849-1 and IEC 62061. Up to 30 units can be connected to each relay (depending on the model). Models are also available for use in food environments, for operating temperatures up to 110 °C (TRITHON) or with magnetic retention.
They also comply with EN ISO 14119 – Type 4, with coding levels according to the models.

For environments with a high explosion risk (ATEX) BTI products comply with ISO 13849 and 94/9/CE, are certified INERIS n°6 ATEX0007 and can be used in temperature ranges from T1 to T4. The safety magnetic switch ANATOM78S-EEX combined with the AWAX26XXL-EEX safety module, equipped with a Zener barrier, reaches Category 4 PLe EN ISO 13849-1, ATEX zone 0/20 in the stainless-steel version, ATEX zone 1/21 in the polycarbonate version.
